Authorities are searching for country music star Craig Morson's son, who went missing following a boating accident on Sunday (July 10).
The singer's 19-year-old son Jerry Greer went tubing with a friend on Kentucky Lake, a section of the Tennessee River, in Humphreys County, Tennessee on Sunday and went missing following a collision. Tubing is a recreational activity where a person sits on an inflatable as it is pulled along the water by a boat.
A search for Greer was launched at 4pm local time Sunday afternoon, and five boats patrolled the area overnight. Full-scale "recovery efforts" resumed at 6am local time on Monday morning (11Jul16), with reports suggesting up to fifty boats could be used for the operation.
"The family is grateful for everyone’s support and prayers and requests privacy during this difficult time,” Morgan's publicist wrote in a statement.
Morgan's fellow country stars sent messages of support to the musician, with Rodney Atkins tweeting, "Sending thoughts and prayers to @CMorganMusic & family," and Chely Wright posting, "I'm so sorry @cmorganmusic... I'm praying for you and your family."
Morgan has three sons and a daughter with his wife Karen. Jerry had recently graduated from Dickson County High School. (HW/WNTWT&WNCTST/DMC)
