With the winter release of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” quickly approaching, Gwendoline Christie and Gareth Edwards moderated a Star Wars Celebration in London, England on Thursday (July 14).
Attended by nearly 4,000 fans, the shindig started on a somber note by remembering the 84 people that died in the Nice, France massacre earlier in the day, before moving on to show new footage from the movie.
Director Edwards also explained the nerves he felt when a certain Star Wars honcho visited the set of the film- “I challenge anyone to have a more surreal experience than showing a Star Wars film to George Lucas. He’d start to criticize something, then he’d make a joke, and you’d realize he was just kidding. But we’re all having heart attacks. He just has a really dry sense of humor.”
